WHAT MAKES A GOOD CONSTRUCTION COST ESTIMATE - part 2
It was mentioned in part 1 of this series, that the preparation of a cost estimate requires the mastery of several knowledge areas. There are other important factors that have impact on the quality of the estimate.
To most of us, cost estimate appears as complicated number crunching, which partially it is. What makes a good construction cost estimate, however, is not the pricing itself, but the precision – or not – of the scope of work. Imagine that you are planning to renovate your house and your entire family takes part in this process. It certainly will be a challenge for everyone to agree on every single decision, in order to arrive at a perfect renovation plan and within your budget. |
