Construction Materials Price Index Rises 2.0%
Big jumps in petroleum, diesel and other energy based products plus gypsum, aluminum and steel products and smaller rises in concrete products caused a substantial rise in the construction materials price index in March from February. The Index is up 4.0% in the last three months and 6.8% over the last year. More..
Employment in construction in Canada rose by 24,000
Over the past 12 months, the Canadian economy has created 305,000 jobs. Services have accounted for nearly 200,000 of the increase. Manufacturing has provided 36,000 new positions. Construction, with a 64,000-job gain, has added the rest. More...
